Patrick Townsend :
Executive Director - Transactions
Patrick has more than 20 years experience of infrastructure and project finance
transactions globally and within the Middle East and North Africa, having advised
on transactions valued at more than USD 70 billion. Prior to joining Instrata Capital,
Patrick was an infrastructure banker at HSBC where he advised on a number of major
project finance transactions in the power, water, petrochemical, industrial and
transportation sectors. He has been involved in several regional landmark transactions
including advising the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on its first IWPP transaction, Shoaiba
IWPP. Before joining HSBC, Patrick was at Schroder Salomon Smith Barney and Coopers
and Lybrand where he qualified as a chartered accountant (ICAEW). Patrick holds
a degree in Engineering from the University of Cambridge.
John Mantzavinatos : Executive Director - Transactions
John has more than 14 years of investment banking and principal investing experience
with a focus on infrastructure. Prior to joining Instrata Capital, John was a Division
Director within the Transport and Infrastructure Services team of Macquarie Capital
in London where he worked on a number of acquisitions and disposals in the infrastructure
sector. Previously John held positions in London and New York for HSBC, UBS and
Credit Agricole Indosuez where he advised on a significant number of international
M&A, debt, equity and privatization transactions across a range of infrastructure
sub sectors.
John holds a Bachelor degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Southampton,
UK, a Masters degree in Air Transport Management from Cranfield University, UK,
and a Masters degree in Systems Engineering from the University of Sheffield, UK.
Adel has 6 years experience in project finance, having held positions with Standard
Chartered Bank and PricewaterhouseCoopers in London, where he worked on advisory
and financing mandates across a range of infrastructure sub sectors, including PFI/PPP,
telecommunications and oil and gas. Prior to joining Instrata Capital, Adel worked
for an arranger of German closed-end funds investing in renewable energy assets.
Adel holds a Grande Ecole Engineering degree from the Conservatoire National des
Arts et Métiers and a Masters in Business from ESCP Europe in Paris, France.
Fiona Alpe :
Executive Director – Investment and Fund Administration
Fiona has more than 18 years experience in the fund and asset management industry
during which time she has been involved in the establishment of several alternative
asset management businesses. Previously, Fiona worked at UBS Global Asset Management
in London where she was Head of Operations and Product Development for the UBS global
infrastructure funds department. Whilst at UBS Fiona was instrumental in the establishment
of a global infrastructure fund and international infrastructure asset management
joint ventures, including one in the Middle East. Fiona's previous role was Head
of Real Estate Fund Accounting for UK and Continental Europe for UBS Asset Management
where she was responsible for the accounting and administration of over USD 4 billion
in real estate funds. Fiona has experience in the establishment of infrastructure
and real estate administration departments in Australia, the Middle East, the British
Channel Islands, the United Kingdom and Europe.
Fiona holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Natal, Durban,
South Africa, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Advanced Accounting from the University
of Queensland, Australia. Fiona is also a member of CPA Australia.
