Instrata Capital is an active investment manager. We believe that value maximisation is only achieved by actively working with other shareholders and partners to optimise the business and financial strategies of the investments we manage.
We deliver strategic insight and investment advice by leveraging our regional and international market knowledge and network of relationships.
Our active management strategy is determined on a case-by-case basis and will usually involve all or some of the following activities :

Board Representation :
Board representation is essential to ensure that we are aware of all key issues pertaining to an investment and so that we are able to assess the performance of the investment and all senior management.

Management Meetings :
We maintain a dialogue with key managers who may not hold board positions to identify any issues that may not have been brought to the attention of the board or the shareholders of the investee company.

Value Maximisation Reviews :
We actively monitor opportunities to maximise the financial returns from the investments we manage. Such opportunities might include the refinancing or financial restructuring of an investment, or the renegotiation of contracts on more favourable terms. Our monitoring strategy also includes regularly evaluating the performance of the investment against business plans and forecasts and constantly challenging management to outperform.

Independent Review :
We consult and retain independent industry and expert advisors to assist with the review of operational, technical or strategy matters pertaining to an investment where deemed necessary. We may also retain independent expert advisors if we believe their expertise is necessary to take decisions relating to management restructuring, or where independent experts may identify opportunities to generate efficiencies or cost savings.
